Cranford Prevention and Wellness provides information about substance use, abuse and revention to community members and their families.
The goal is the make this problem visible in the community and provide tools to prevent using substances in day to day life.
Cranford Prevention and Wellness (CPAW) was originally founded as the Cranford Municipal Alliance, part of the Union County Municipal Alliance Program. This is part of a statewide initiative developed under the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA) and the Blueprint for a Drug-Free New Jersey.
Over the years, the group evolved into Prevention and Wellness to better reflect its broader focus: mental health, youth leadership, overdose prevention, and public education, alongside substance use prevention. The idea is to tackle the problem at the core.
Today, CPAW is a vital bridge between families, schools, and community services.
Our committee is made up of passionate community members,working together to create meaningful, evidence-based change in Cranford.
